Ping-Post Software

How ping-post lead distribution works, and how to choose software that sells every lead at its best price.

How ping-post works

  1. Ping. A new lead arrives. The platform sends anonymized data (zip code, age range, product interest) to every eligible buyer.
  2. Bid. Buyers respond in milliseconds with a price, or decline.
  3. Select. The platform ranks bids, applies caps, priorities and filters, and picks the winner.
  4. Post. The full lead, with contact details, is posted to the winning buyer.
  5. Fallback. If the buyer rejects the post, the lead goes to the next bidder or a ring tree automatically.

Frequently asked questions

What is ping-post?

Ping-post is a two-step lead auction. The seller pings buyers with non identifying lead data, buyers return a bid, and the full lead is posted to the highest acceptable bidder.

What is the difference between ping-post and direct post?

Direct post sends the full lead to one buyer at a fixed price. Ping-post runs an auction first, so each lead can sell at its market value.

What is a ring tree?

A ring tree is an ordered list of buyers the lead is offered to, one after another, until one accepts. It is often used as a fallback after a ping-post auction.

Is ping-post compliant?

It can be, as long as consent is captured correctly and only non personal data is shared in the ping. Always check TCPA rules in the US and GDPR in Europe for your vertical.
